    Why do I do this?

    Why do I do this?

I ask myself that same question at times.  My Dad instilled my passion for others. As a kid I had 6 years of tap dance and jazz, 2 years of baton and 1 year of ballet. With these skills and the talents of others, my Dad put together a variety  road show to entertain those who he felt would benefit from the entertainment.  We performed over 150 shows over the years to audiences at nursing homes, VA hospitals and youth homes.  The show was comprised of volunteer talent and my Dad funded it all on his nickle.

Then we moved into sponsoring youth baseball. I’d ask my dad why he spent his money to do this.  He said it was his way of making a difference with kids and provided him with something to do that was worth while.

He’s worked for International Harvester and sold real estate to help fund his mission. FUNNY if he were alive today he’d have the last laugh.  I’m a Fire Fighter by trade & I service communication towers as my second job to fund my mission - TEAM R&R.  A job that most would never do that is considered high risk only to give it all away & then some so I can make a difference and to help people I don’t even know.  All of the skills and talents I have learned together with my professional experiecne is a good mix for helping people.  Being involved in competetive sports has taught me the right attitude to get eh job done - what ever that job may be.

Both of my parents would do anything for anyone. My mom, an ER nurse, often gave her last dollar to someone in need.  I remember my mom for saying “it’s only money”.
