Do you do any speaking on your adventures? I also speak with social groups to: Lions clubs, Rotary clubs, National events with showcasing TEAM R&R and giving exposure of the equipment and my sponsors.
Yes! I’ve been asked to speak with school kids many times. This is popular because we can cover a number of issues. Everything from "Making a Difference", history, map study, economics, character building and social studies. I also tell th story of my fears and my struggles with READING & WRITING. It creates a connection between the group and me. I focus on elementary school kids as I feel that reaching out to kids when they are in 4th, 5th or 6th grade may impact them early on in the years when they are develping their minds and attitudes about life.
